option set pricing

Anduril3019
suggested this on July 23, 2011 12:56

A useful option is to allow prices attached to specific options.

For example:

Product base price without option selected is $10

Price with option A is $12

Price with option B is $13

This is definitely a must have... With the type of products I am selling it is very important that if a customer wants a certain style or size the price reflects that option.

I have photographic prints but with different variations in sizes and hence prices. At the moment I have to create an individual product for each size+price but it would be a lot easier if the person could option the size and hence price.

Hi there also what is missing is if i put in sizes in the options i cant tell it i have 3 smalls 5 mediums 7 larges to stop me from selling to many of 1 size so again you have to

put in individual listings for different sizes so you don't sell things you don't have

I would definitely like to see this - in addition to increasing the price, it would also be good to be able to add an additional product weight for the option so that the shipping cost can be amended also

I'm confused.  So, right now, we CAN'T have a base price and then have it add more money for a upcharge? e.g.larger size of same product.  The only way to get around that at this moment is to have one product at one price and then have another product listing for the same item, but as a larger size at increased price.  right?  What is the eta on being able to do what we're asking for?  Thanks!

Hi All- Thanks for posting. Currently the app does have inventory controls, for example if you're selling shirts you can set the overall inventory for each style. However, if you want to dig down and set inventory for each color and size, the app does not have the ability to do that at this time. We are however working on more robust features for inventory and these will be available in the coming months. If you have any specific questions, please email support@payvment.com and we will be happy to help you!

I see you started to work on this in the product management API. But I have some questions. What data should I send if the price, weight and qty depend on more than one option?

For example, if I want to sell chairs. These have two option sets: Material and Size. Material can be wood, steel and plastic. Size can be large, medium and small. So there are 9 different types of chair, each with different weight, price and qty.  Your XML format wants me to post, for example the weight of a medium chair. There are 3 types of medium chair: wood medium chair, steel medium chair and plastic medium chair, so there is no way I can send the weight of a medium chair. You should make the XML be able to contain the data for all 9 types of chair. Thanks.

For now, I have manually added each combination based on color/size. So instead of putting one item up there, i have 7, with the potential of 16 (XS, S, M, L as well as 4 colors). I would love to be able to put it up once, but have the same problem others do with regards to inventory quantity. Some of them are very limited, so if we sell a small, blue shirt, i need that combination's available quantity to go down by one. Look forward to being able to upload more to our store, but will probably wait for the ability to better manage my inventory. Thanks! Max http://www.facebook.com/ilovewoo

My issue is that I add personalization for an additional fee.  It allows customers to add the personalization but it does not allow me to charge them for it.

Honestly I was using Payvment when it was still in the beta stages. This has been a feature I've been waiting for since the beginning of this year. Now payvment has gone to paid service with 3 tiers and this is still not a feature. This feature is definitely a must have for any ecommerce solution. Payvement from what I've seen is one of the best ecommerce solutions you can use for facebook but without this option, it makes it one of the worst. I currently now use TabJuice for my facebook store because they have option set pricing. If Payvment can come out with option set pricing sometime soon, I would come back. But if I get to grounded in TabJuice, I will be sticking with them. I hope Payvment gets moving and adds this feature soon!! I rather not stick with TabJuice because it is not as good but what other choice do I have right now? I have to be open for business and they offer the one feature I absolutely can not go without!

Hi Christoph- Thanks for sharing. I am really sorry that we don't have this feature yet as I know how important it is for our sellers. Each day we strive to build new features to help merchants achieve their goals and the issue that you bring up is something that we are aware of. Please know that we have shared your feedback with the entire team. While we cannot release dates I can tell you this is something that will be addressed. If you have any additional feedback please feel free to contact support@payvment.com and I will be happy to share it. Thank you for your time.

Hi,

I have been testing this application and another. This is overall nicer to use however, it is this missing feature that IMO is paramount to the majority of most ecommerce solutions. Product option sets should at a minimum allow for the following on a per option basis:

1) Price (additional on top of base price - if no extra cost then a zero value is an option)

2) Weight (additional on top of base product weight - default zero)

3) Separate SKU

For my specific requirements a solution needs to provide ways for a product that consists of a kit bundle. The user selects the various options to create the product they are after.

I have read this post and it looks like this feature or something similar has been wanting for over a year with promises of it being ready in the coming months. I would not consider the paid service until this feature is present.

Is this something that is being developed and if so what is the timeframe. Something more precise than a few months would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
